May 19, 2016. #1. I have a question just for my knowledge and maybe some others. I've noticed on my '08 SG with 90,000+ miles now that the voltage meter at start up is around 14.5-14.7 volts. After riding some time on the freeway, it goes down to around 13 volts and then when I get off doing streets, it goes back up to 14.5-14.7 volts.
Step 1 – Replace battery. The battery on the key fob is bound to die at one point or another. Check your owner's manual for the specific battery type that fits your key fob. Most models take 2032 batteries or equivalent. Use the thin blade to pry the key fob open.

Step 2 – Disconnect battery. Since removing the fuel tank often requires working with fuel, it is best to disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical shorts that could start a fire. Remove the fastener at the rear of the passenger seat and slide the seat unit rearwards to remove it from the bike.

I know it is a new bike, but try replacing the battery in the fob. If that does not allow you to start the bike without entering the PIN, then try following the Google instructions, and just disregard the "supposed" location of button placement on the handlebars. If it calls for pressing a particular sequence on the directional buttons, try it mnhdPa.
